Christmas Soap 2020

Christmas Soap 2020: Snow Fresh, Spiced Cider, Fireplace, Pine Tree, Mistletoe, and Mint Candy.

I started planning this year’s Christmas collection in late August. I came up with 6 designs and it took me one failed batch and 3 successful batches to make the final products, not counting those times that I prepared the embeds and painting. I am proud of the execution part of this creation.

Snow Fresh: The concept is the white base with bring blue to signify the winter, coarse sea salt on top symbolizing snow flakes. Scented with fir needle, eucalyptus, and bergamot essential oils. The aroma is very refreshing and some light citrus.

Spiced Cider: The familiar of Christmas drink smell is gingerbread cookies to me, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. However, I always like to make a drink-inspired soap in every occasion so I came up with a ‘vin chaud’ theme, vanilla, cinnamon (cassia and camphor), and orange. For the embeds, I painted the orange slices with gold mica, and rolled up some cinnamon sticks from scratch. Not edible though!

Fireplace: Something I would love to have in the middle of the snowy winter is a lit fireplace. This is a more woody idea, scented with evergreen, bamboo citrus ginger, and sandalwood. Some red and mostly gold colors to go with the theme.

Pine Tree: ‘Sapin de Noel’ in French, has that distinguish smell if you have the real tree in your living room. The design is pretty simple, perfectly fits with the combination of cedarwood, pine, and cypress essential oils.

Mistletoe: Mistletoe to me is a romantic word because all those lovely Christmas movies. This fragrance is a typical holiday scent, mixed of musk and evergreen.

Mint Candy: Who would forget the classic white-and-red candy cane? Therefore, the whole theme is red and white, and peppermint essential oil and sweet egg nog fragrance.

While we are counting down to Christmas and the end of the year, I want to wish you and your family/friends a warm and beautiful holiday season. Let’s look forward to the new year together!

Macy
