Every journey begins with a single step, and London was the destination that sparked many more adventures to come.

Where Tradition Meets Summer

There are some cities that impress you with their landmarks. London did that, but it also surprised me with its rhythm.

The summer of 2010, I wandered across Tower Bridge, watched the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, rode the London Eye for a sweeping view of the city, and discovered just how quickly "the Tube" could take you from one neighbourhood to another. Hyde Park became a peaceful pause between busy streets, while Wimbledon Village felt like a charming English countryside escape tucked inside one of the world's greatest cities.

THE CHAMPIONSHIPS - Rafael Nadal won his 2nd Wimbledon trophy.
But the moment that has stayed with me the longest wasn't inside a famous landmark.
It was sitting on the grass outside Centre Court at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, surrounded by thousands of tennis fans, watching the giant screen under a brilliant summer sky. Complete strangers quietly shared the excitement of every point, applauding together as if they had known each other for years.
It reminded me that some of the best seats in the world aren't always inside the stadium.

A sensory moment:

When I think of London in July, I don't just remember what I saw. I remember what I sensed.
Tower Bridge over the River Thames and the London skyline.
The sweet fragrance of roses blooming around Wimbledon. The unmistakable scent of freshly cut grass. A gentle summer breeze carrying laughter across the lawns. The taste of strawberries and cream enjoyed between matches. Even today, those memories return the moment I catch the aroma of fresh flowers or walk through a garden after it's been trimmed.
It's remarkable how scent can preserve a place long after the passport has been stamped.
